Azores Nine Collection
The concept "nine" received an Honorable Mention in the Ideas Competition/Call#2 of the ReBuild17 project, part of the Environment Program funded by the EEA Grants mechanism. This initiative was promoted by the Regional Government of the Azores, specifically through the Regional Secretariat for Tourism, Mobility, and Infrastructure, in collaboration with the Regional Laboratory for Civil Engineering (LREC), Fibrenamics Azores via the Center for Innovation of Advanced Material Products (CIMPA), the Regional Directorate for Environment and Climate Change, and the Icelandic company ReSource International. This unique collection features nine distinct gradients achieved through reused glass coatings. It champions the cause of reducing ecological footprints and encourages social habits of conservation by fostering awareness of the scarcity of natural resources. Simultaneously, the collection contributes to the preservation of mental, physical, and collective well-being through the innovative practice of chromotherapy. Inspired by the captivating landscape of the Azores Autonomous Region (RAA) and the distinctive chromatic palette of each island, the collection pays homage to the following identities: Santa Maria - The Yellow Island: Named for the abundance of brooms. São Miguel - The Green Island: Celebrating its pastures and forests. Terceira - The Lilac Island: Known for its lilac vineyards. Graciosa - The White Island: Characterized by its white stones. São Jorge - The Chestnut Island: Named after the rocks on the Rosais Point. Pico - The Grey Island: Recognized for its majestic mountain. Faial - The Blue Island: Famous for its blue hydrangeas. Flores - The Pink Island: Attributed to its vibrant azaleas. Corvo - The Black Island: Known for its lava formations and walled fields. This collection stands as a testament to the rich natural heritage of the Azores while encouraging a conscious and sustainable lifestyle, embracing both environmental responsibility and the holistic well-being of individuals and communities. #ReBuild17 #EEAGrants #AzoresEnvironment #Chromotherapy #SustainableLiving #EcologicalFootprint #AwarenessForConservation #RegionalInnovation #AzoresLandscape #MaterialInnovation #WellbeingPreservation #IslandInspiration #RecycledArt #NaturalResourcesAwareness #AlexandrePicanco #Azores #CreativeJourney #ArchitecturalElegance #NatureInspiredDesign #MinimalistMindscape #AzoresBeauty
